STANDISH, ME - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference has announced its awards for the week-ending November 29th, and Saint Joseph's College Men's Basketball player Zach O'Brien '12 (Schenectady, NY/Bishop Gibbons) has collected Player of the Week honors.
O'Brien averaged 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in a 2-0 week for the Monks and scored a career-high 24 points with 8 rebounds in a win over Southern Maine on November 29th.
The sophomore swing man averaged 8.5 points, 4.4 boards and 2.2 assists in 19 starts last season and was named to the All-State Rookie squad for his efforts as a freshman.
St. Joe's (3-0) is set to host Husson (1-2) on Tuesday evening at 7:30 PM. The Monks will open up the conference schedule with a game at Emerson College on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
