STANDISH, ME - Zach O'Brien (Schenectady, NY), a sophomore guard on the Monks Basketball team, has been listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll for the reporting period ending January 17th.
O'Brien averaged 20 points, 6.5 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals in a 1-1 conference week for the Monks. The sophomore scored a career-high 29 points, off a 12-17 effort from the floor, in a win over Lasell on January 16th and netted 11 points, 8 assists and 4 steals in a close loss to Norwich on January 12th.
Through 14 games, O'Brien leads the team in assists (3.9 APG), minutes (459. 32.8 MPG), free throws made (47) and ranks second in scoring (14.9 PPG), free-throw percentage (74.6%, 47-63) and field goals made (75).
Saint Joseph's (10-4, 5-2 GNAC) will play at Mount Ida College (10-4, 5-2 GNAC) on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
