Eatmon Honor Roll Worthy, Monks Ranked Third in Maine

STANDISH, ME - The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association has released its sixth report of the 2009-10 campaign, and Ray Eatmon '10 (Huntington, NY) has been listed on the Weekly Honor Roll.

Eatmon averaged 12.7 PPG, 10.7 RPG and 4.7 APG and notched two double-doubles with a 68% (18-25) success rate from the floor in three contests for the Monks last week.  The senior forward scored 15 with a season-high 15 caroms, to go with 6 assists, in a 71-56 victory over Mount Ida on January 23rd.

Included in the weekly report is the State of Maine poll, which is voted on by member coaches. St. Joe's (11-4 overall, 6-2 GNAC), ranked second last week, falls to #3, with 30 points, after a 1-2 reporting period. Colby, who defeated Bates and Tufts last week, earns the top spot for the second-straight week with 49 points and 9 first-place votes. Bowdoin is ranked second (31 pts), while Bates (16) is fourth and Thomas (14) is fifth. Husson also received votes and accumulated 10 points.

Eatmon leads the state in blocked shots (1.9 BPG) and ranks 5th in rebounding (8.5 RPG), 6th in assists (3.5 APG) and 7th in FG% (55.4%, 56-101). Rashon Jones '11 (Bridgeport, CT) ranks 2nd in blocks (1.6 BPG), 6th in FG% (57%, 49-86), 13th in rebounding (6.4 RPG) and 14th in assists (2.6 APG).

Tyler Kelley '11 (Saco, ME) ranks 3rd in three-point efficiency (42%, 34-81) and 8th in scoring (15.5 PPG) and Chris Petzy '12 (Kensington, NH) is 4th in three-point percentage (40.7%, 22-54), 4th in FT% (81.6%, 31-38) and 16th in scoring (12.5 PPG). Zach O'Brien '12 (Schenectady, NY) is tied for 3rd in assists (4.1 APG), ranks 6th in free-throw percentage (74.6%, 47-63) and 10th in scoring (14.6 PPG).

St. Joe's will play at Rivier College (4-11, 1-7 GNAC) tonight at 7:00 PM and will host Emerson College (11-5, 8-1 GNAC) on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
