O'Brien Earns Pair of Honor Roll Honors; Monks Ranked 3rd in Maine

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College sophomore guard Zach O'Brien (Schenectady, NY) has been named to the GNAC and MMBCWA weekly honor rolls for his play during the 1/25-1/31 reporting period.

O'Brien averaged 18.0 points, 7.7 caroms, 3.0 assists and 1.0 block in three games for the Monks last week. He notched his second double-double effort of the season with 22 points and 11 boards against Albertus Magnus on January 20th and shot 46.8% from the field overall. For O'Brien, the Maine Honor Roll selection is his third of the year, while the conference honor is his second. He also garnered GNAC Player of the Week honors on December 1st.

For the second straight week, Saint Joseph's (14-5, 9-3 GNAC) is ranked third in the Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association Weekly Poll, which is a carbon copy of the January 25th poll. For the third week in a row, Colby (15-2) sits in the top spot with nine first-place votes and 45 points overall, while Bowdoin (11-6) is ranked second with 30 points. Bates (10-10, 17 pts) and Thomas (12-4, 13 pts) round out the weekly poll and Husson and UNE both received votes.

Ray Eatmon '10 (Huntington, NY) continues to lead the state in blocked shots (1.7 BPG) and ranks 6th in rebounding (8.4 RPG), assists (3.5 APG) and field goal percentage (55.3%, 68-123).

Rashon Jones '11 (Bridgeport, CT) is right behind Eatmon in blocks (1.6 BPG) and ranks 9th in FG% (54.1%, 60-111). The junior guard is 15th in rebounding (6.4 RPG) and 17th in assists (2.4 APG).

Chris Petzy '12 (Kensington, NH) is tied for 2nd in three-point efficiency (43.1%, 28-65) and is 4th in FT% (79.6%, 39-49) and 15th in scoring (13.4 PPG).

O'Brien is tied for 2nd in assists (3.9 APG) and ranks 6th in FT% (75.3%, 55-73) and 7th in scoring (15.2 PPG).

Tyler Kelley '11 (Saco, ME) is 5th in three-point percentage (38.9%, 35-90) and 13th in scoring (13.8 PPG).

Saint Joseph's will travel to Boston on Thursday to take on GNAC-rival Suffolk University (5-14, 1-11 GNAC) at 7:30 PM.
