Eatmon Named All-State

STANDISH, ME – The Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association has announced the 2010 All-State Team and Saint Joseph’s senior forward Raymond Eatmon (Huntington, NY/Walt Whitman) has garnered Second Team honors.

Eatmon, a co-captain during his final season, averaged 10.0 points, 8.1 caroms, 3.6 assists and 1.6 blocks per game during the 2009-10 campaign and shot a team-best 56.9% (107-188) from the field during his senior season. He became the 32nd player in team history to reach the 1,000-point mark when he scored the first hoop of the game against Mount Ida College on February 20th and is the only player in program history to accumulate 1,000 points, 750 boards, 200 assists and 100 blocks in their career.

For Eatmon, the All-State nomination is the second of his career. The 6’5” forward received First Team honors as a junior and has been honored as an All-GNAC player following each of the last three seasons.

The 2010 St. Joe’s team was 19-7 overall and registered a 14-4 record in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play under 7th year Head Coach Robert Sanicola ’99.
