O'Brien Listed on GNAC & MMBCWA Honor Rolls

STANDISH, ME – Saint Joseph's junior Zach O'Brien (Schenectady, NY) has been listed on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference and Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association weekly honor rolls.

O'Brien averaged 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.0 steals in a 3-0 conference week for Saint Joseph's. The junior swingman scored 20 against Rivier on Tuesday and poured in a game-high 25 points in a victory over 2010 GNAC Champion Albertus Magnus College on Saturday. Overall, O'Brien shot 58.3% from the floor and 50% from beyond the arc in the three triumphs.

As of Monday, O'Brien ranked third in the state in assists (4.2 APG), fourth in free throw percentage (82.4%, 42-51), fifth in three-point success (43.9%, 25-57), and eighth in scoring (16.4 PPG).

Through Tuesday's games, O'Brien ranked second in the GNAC in three-point percentage, third in both assists and FT success, fourth in assist/turnover ratio (1.4), and eighth in both scoring and playing time (32.6 MPG).

A state-wide poll is included in the MMBCWA weekly report and Saint Joseph's, with one first-place vote and 24 points overall, is ranked fourth for the second straight week.

Saint Joseph's (14-5, 11-1 GNAC), winners of five straight and nine of the last 10, will host Suffolk University on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
