Petzy Collects MMBCWA Honor Roll Accolade

STANDISH, ME – The Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's junior guard Chris Petzy (Kensington, NH) has been listed on the Honor Roll for the fourth time this season.

Petzy averaged 18.0 PPG while shooting 46.4% (13-28) from the floor, 58.8% (10-17) from downtown, and 81.4% (18-22) in three GNAC Tournament games last week. He netted 20 points and went 10-12 from the charity stripe in a win over Mount Ida on February 22nd and went 6-8 from three-point distance with 21 points in a victory over Norwich two days later.

Petzy finished the year as the team-leader in three-point percentage (45.5%, 65-143) and free-throw percentage (82.5%, 99-120) and ranked second on the team in scoring (15.4 PPG) and field-goal percentage (47.2%, 133-282).

As of March 1st, Petzy paced all NCAA DIII and NAIA players in three-point success, ranked fourth in FT percentage, and 11th in scoring average.

Saint Joseph's (20-8, 15-3 GNAC), the top seed in the conference tourney, fell to #2 Johnson & Wales, 76-66, in the GNAC Championship on February 26th at the Harold Alfond Center.
