Simonds Listed on GNAC All-Tournament Team

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's College sophomore Steve Simonds (Steep Falls, Maine) has been listed on the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball All-Tournament Team.

Simonds, a first-year starter, averaged 21.0 points, 4.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals while shooting 54.2% (13-24) from the field and 55.6% (10-18) from beyond the arc in the Monks' two tourney tilts. He posted an impressive stat line of 23 points, eight assists, four rebounds and three steals in his team's conference quarterfinal victory over Emerson College on February 19th and added 19 points in a semifinal loss at the hands of top-seeded Anna Maria College two days later.

For the season, Simonds averaged 12.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest and was the Monks' far and away leader in both three-point efficiency (41.3%, 57-138) and free-throw shooting (89.3%, 50-56) as a sophomore.
