STANDISH, ME – The 2014 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Tournament bracket has been announced and Saint Joseph's College (16-9, 15-3 GNAC) has earned the #2 seed.

Saint Joseph's, which enters the tournament having won nine of the last 10 games, will host #7 Suffolk University in a quarterfinal match-up at the Harold Alfond Center on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. The women's team, which also earned the #2 seed, will host #7 Lasell College before the men's game at 5:30 PM.

Other GNAC Tournament quarterfinal contests include #8 Norwich University/#1 Albertus Magnus College, #6 Anna Maria College/#3 Johnson & Wales University and #5 Rivier University/#4 Lasell College. All first round games will be played on Tuesday night with the four victors advancing to the semifinal round, which will take place on Thursday. The semifinal winners meet in the GNAC Championship on Saturday afternoon. The higher seed hosts throughout tournament play.

The winner of the GNAC Tournament advances to the NCAA DIII Tournament, which begins on Friday, March 7th.

Saint Joseph's saw a nine-game winning streak come to a close when the Monks suffered a 77-68 loss at Lasell College on Saturday afternoon. The string of victories was the program's longest since the 1998-99 team won an SJC-record 23 consecutive contests.
