Men's Basketball to Face Top-Seeded Johnson & Wales in First Round of GNAC Tourney

WINTHROP, Mass. – Johnson & Wales University has earned the regular-season title and top seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Basketball Tournament, as the league's teams rounded out their conference schedules on Saturday.

The top-seeded Wildcats, who are currently ranked No. 17 in the latest d3hoops.com national poll and No. 8 in the second edition of the Division III Northeast Regional rankings, will open up tournament play on Tuesday, February 23 by hosting eighth-seeded Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 7:30 PM.

In other GNAC Quarterfinal action on Tuesday evening, second-seeded Lasell College will welcome seventh-seeded Suffolk University at 7:00 PM. Suffolk topped Lasell on the road in overtime on Saturday, 67-66, in the regular-season finale to jump up to the No. 7 seed and avoid the eighth slot.

Also on Tuesday, defending GNAC champion and third-seeded Albertus Magnus College will host sixth-seeded Mount Ida College (7:00 PM) and fifth-seeded Emmanuel College will travel to fourth-seeded Anna Maria College (7:00 PM).
