Berry & Mileikis Garner All-GNAC Honors

STANDISH, Maine - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) men's basketball postseason awards have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College players have been honored.

Junior guards Darian Berry (Rochester, N.H.) and Ian Mileikis (Auburn, Maine) have garnered First and Second Team All-GNAC honors, respectively. The All-Conference nods are a career-first for both players.

Berry collects First Team All-Conference acclaim after leading the Monks in scoring (17.0 PPG), points (442), rebounding (5.7 RPG), rebounds (148), field goals made (162), field goals attempted (344), three-pointers made (79), three-pointers attempted (190), and three-point percentage (41.6%) during his breakout junior season.

Berry led the GNAC in three-pointers made, ranked fourth in defensive rebounds (130), fifth in scoring average, field goals made, and three-point percentage, and sixth in total points. In 62 career contests, Berry has netted 734 points with 246 rebounds, 107 assists, and 42 steals.

Mileikis claims Second Team honors after averaging 14.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per contest while shooting 51.6% (133-258) from the floor, 37.1% (26-70) from downtown, and 82.1% (87-106) from the FT line during his third collegiate campaign. The second-year captain led the Monks in free-throws made, free-throw percentage (82.1%), assists (90), and steals (36).

Mileikis finished the season ranked third in the GNAC in free-throw percentage, fifth in free-throws made, eighth in assists, and ninth in field goal percentage, steals, and points. Through three seasons, he has totaled 840 points, 360 rebounds, 230 assists, and 79 steals in 77 career contests.

Under the watch of 15th-year Head Coach Rob Sanicola '99, Saint Joseph's posted a 16-10 overall record with an 11-5 mark in GNAC play en route to claiming the #3 seed in the conference tournament. The Monks' season came to a close with a 69-65 quarterfinal loss at the hands of sixth-seeded Suffolk University on Tuesday, February 20th.
