STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College men's basketball senior guard Ian Mileikis (Auburn, Maine) became the 40th member of the program's 1,000-Point Club with 26 points in a 95-88 victory over UMaine-Farmington at the Harold Alfond Center on Thursday, December 13th.
Entering the evening 23 points shy of the milestone, Mileikis hit the mark when he converted a traditional three-point play with 11:04 remaining in the second half of the non-conference triumph. Freshman guard Nicholas Curtis (Windham, Maine) was credited with the assist on the milestone bucket.
Mileikis finished the contest with 26 points on an 11-15 shooting performance from the field.
Through 89 career games (87 starts), the three-year team captain has netted 1,033 points while shooting 48% (359-748) from the floor, 33.5% (66-197) from beyond the arc, and 81.1% (249-307) from the free throw line with 425 rebounds, 274 assists, and 89 steals. He currently ranks third in program history in free throw percentage.
He is the 12th player to join the SJC 1,000-Point Club during the tenure of Head Coach Rob Sanicola '99, who is currently in his 16th year at the helm for the Monks. Mileikis joins former teammate Quinn Richardson-Newton '18 on the list of SJC players who have reached the milestone.
