Mileikis Claims D3hoops.com, MMBCWA & GNAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – Weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior guard Ian Mileikis has earned D3hoops.com Team of the Week, Maine Men's Basketball Coaches & Writers Association (MMBCWA) Player of the Week, and Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honor roll acclaim.

Mileikis collects the awards trifecta after averaging 26 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals per game while shooting 75% (30-40) from the field and 76.2% (16-21) from the FT line in three games for the Monks last week. The senior captain became the fourth player in team history - and first since 2006 - to record a triple-double when he tallied 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a comeback victory over University of Saint Joseph on Saturday.

Mileikis is the first player in SJC men's basketball program history to be listed on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week, a national honor bestowed upon the top five players in the country – by position – each reporting period. The MMBCWA weekly award is the third of his career and second of the season and he has been listed on the GNAC honor roll on eight occasions.

As of January 14th, Mileikis is averaging 18.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 63.8% (102-160) from the floor and 86.3% (63-73) from the free throw line. He currently ranks second in the GNAC in field goal percentage (22nd in the country) and free throws made, third in assists (62), fourth in free throw percentage, and sixth in points (271) and points per game.

Mileikis is just the sixth player in NCAA DIII Men's Basketball – and only individual in the New England Region - to notch a triple-double this season.

In 92 career games (90 starts), Mileikis has scored 1,111 points with 447 rebounds, 292 assists, and 94 steals. He currently ranks third in team history with an 80.2% (265-328) success rate from the free throw line.

Saint Joseph's (12-3, 2-1 GNAC) will host Bowdoin College tonight at 8:00 PM.
