Men's Lacrosse Team Captains Announced

STANDISH, ME - Saint Joseph's Men's Lacrosse Head Coach Mike Edgar has announced his team captains for the upcoming campaign.

Ross Hardaway '11 (East Boston, MA), Elliot LaMarre '11 (Raymond, ME) and Kyle Joseph '10 (Oakland, ME) will serve as an extension of the coaching staff in 2010.

Hardaway and Joseph both played prominent roles, on and off the field, for the Monks in 2009 and will be key members of this year's squad as the Monks, heading into the team's third year as an NCAA varsity program, look to make some noise in the North Atlantic Conference Tournament.

LaMarre has proven to be one of the toughest face-off men in the conference. The junior won 56.4% (110-195) of his skirmishes last season and added 6 goals, 5 assists and 40 groundballs to his 2009 stat line.

The Monks will add a talented group of newcomers to a battle-tested returning corps that advanced to the NAC playoffs as a first-year member of the league and scored nearly 100 more goals than the 2008 club.

St. Joe's, 4-13 overall and 2-7 in NAC play last season, will kick off the 2010 season on March 6th with a game against Bard College at Mount Saint Vincent College in Riverdale, NY.
