Men's LAX Ranked 6th in NAC Preseason Poll

STANDISH, ME - The North Atlantic Conference Preseason Men's Lacrosse Poll has been released, and Saint Joseph's College is ranked sixth in a vote conducted by NAC coaches.

The Monks posted a 4-13 record overall and went 2-7 in NAC play last spring as a first-year member of the conference. St. Joe's earned the #8 seed in the NAC playoffs and fell to top-seeded Castleton State in a conference quarterfinal in Vermont on April 25th.

The Monks will kick off the 2010 campaign with a pair of games against Bard College and Mount St. Vincent in Riverdale, NY on March 6th and 7th. The team's first home contest, which will be played at Deering Memorial Stadium in Portland, is on March 17th at 4:30 PM against NAC foe Emerson College.

NAC Release:

Six-time defending champion Mount Ida College has been chosen as the preseason favorite of the North Atlantic Conference in a vote conducted by the league's coaches. The Mustangs, who received eight first place votes and 98 total points, return seven starters including first-team all-conference honoree and team MVP Matt Savage who scored a league-leading 36 goals in conference play last season.

Castleton, who last year became the first team to defeat Mount Ida in conference play, received two first place votes and 91 total points. The Spartans also return their team MVP senior middie Jake Rick, a first team all-conference selection last season.
