St. Joe's scored early and often in its 2010 opener, as the Royal Blue scored three goals - two by Pasquarello - in the first five minutes of play and sailed to a 7-0 halftime lead. When the final buzzer rang after four periods, the Monks had earned the program's first-ever shutout win and broke the team single-game record for margin of victory.

Saint Joseph's also set new marks for team groundballs (70) and groundballs collected by an individual (Chase, 12) in the win.

Marco Stefano '12 (Steep Falls, ME) started in net for the Monks and made 5 stops in 30 minutes before giving way to Christopher Driscoll '13 (Saco, ME), who made 2 saves in 30 minutes of mop-up duty. Elliot LaMarre '11 (Raymond, ME) won 9 of 11 face-off battles, while Kyle Joseph '10 (Oakland, ME) collected 6 groundballs and T.J. Garske '12 (Federal Way, WA), Andrew Moravick '10 (Biddeford, ME) and Gregory Lambert '13 (Alexandria, VA) all corralled 5 groundballs apiece.

St. Joe's held commanding advantages in shots (54-15), groundballs (70-32) and face-off wins (13-7) and went 21-24 on clear attempts in the conquest.

Raptors keeper Michael Luxemburg recorded 18 saves in 47:45 of play, while backup netminder Jacob Powsner notched 6 stops in 12:15 of relief.

The Monks will cap their trip to New York with a game against Mount St. Vincent on Sunday at 5:30 PM.
