Two St. Joe’s Lacrosse Players Honored by GNAC

STANDISH, ME – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference weekly awards have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse players have been honored.

Senior Elliot LaMarre (Raymond, ME) has earned GNAC Player of the Week honors while freshman Jake Ricciardi (Sharon, MA) has been selected as the conference rookie of the week.

LaMarre tallied 27 face-off wins and 15 ground balls in a 1-1 week for Saint Joseph's. The senior midi recorded a team-record 20 face-off wins and added a game-high 11 ground balls in a win over Lyndon State on March 20th.

LaMarre, the Monks' all-time leader in ground balls (223), face-off wins (402) and face-off percentage (.542), currently ranks 21st in the nation with a .658 (52-79) success rate on face-offs this season.

Ricciardi notched three goals and an assist in a win over Lyndon State on March 20th. Through six games for the 3-3 Monks, the first-year midfielder has recorded seven goals, three assists and nine ground balls.

Saint Joseph's will host Maine-Farmington on Wednesday at Deering Memorial Stadium in Portland at 4:45 PM.
