Monks Soar Past Eagles, 18-2

NASHUA, NH – Saint Joseph's (7-6, 2-2 GNAC) used 10 third quarter goals to clinch an 18-2 victory over Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) foe Daniel Webster College (3-3, 1-2 GNAC) on Tuesday afternoon. Benson Pasquarello '12 (Kennebunk, ME) registered three goals and four assists in the triumph.

The Monks led 3-1 after the first quarter and increased their cushion to 5-1 when Paul Dolewa '12 (Saco, ME) netted a pair of man-up goals in the second stanza. Pasquarello, Spencer Hunt '13 (Jeffersonville, VT) and Jonathan Horgan '12 (Hingham, MA) scored two markers apiece in the third quarter when the visitors netted 10 unanswered goals to take a 15-1 advantage into the final period.

Dolewa paced the Royal Blue with four goals and added an assist, Horgan tallied three goals and three assists, Hunt found the back of the cage twice and Zachary Chaisson '14 (Concord, NH) added a pair of markers in the lopsided victory.  Jake Ricciardi '14 (Sharon, MA) and Tookie Amosun '11 (Gardiner, ME) chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece and Jack LaFreniere '13 (Alton, NH) notched a pair of assists on the afternoon.

Keiran Kavanaugh (East Lyme, CT) scored both goals for Daniel Webster.

Chris Driscoll '13 (Saco, ME) combined with Colin Finn '14 (N. Easton, MA) for seven saves in the Monk goal, while Nate Burr (Southbury, CT) sparkled for DWC, making 14 stops.

Saint Joseph's went 5-10 in man-up situations and held advantages in shots (42-12) and ground balls (34-19) in the conference win. The Eagles failed to convert in nine man-advantage situations.

St. Joe's will play at Becker College on Saturday in a GNAC contest starting at 3:00 PM while the Eagles return to action on Thursday when they visit Mitchell College in a regional matchup beginning at 4:00 PM.
