Men's Lacrosses Edges Becker College, 11-10

LEICESTER, MA – Saint Joseph's College defeated Becker College 11-10 today in Great Northeast Atlantic Conference men's lacrosse action at Alumni Field this afternoon. Becker's record drops to 6-9 (2-3 GNAC) and St. Joe's improves to 8-6 (3-2 GNAC) with the result.

St. Joe's took a 5-0 lead after the first period with the help of Benson Pasquarello (Kennebunk, ME), who registered a hat trick in the stanza. Led by three tallies by Jon Nessen (Levittown, PA), Becker battled back in the second quarter outscoring the Monks 5-3.

Becker scored four unanswered goals in the third period, including a Nessen shot handed goal and a Jeff Peterson (Syracuse, NY) man-up goal to enter the fourth tied 9-9.

The Monks scored less than a minute in on another Pasquarello goal to take the 10-9 lead. Midfielder Johnny Magwood (Ellicott City, MD) scored the game winner at 9:29 for the Royal Blue.

Goaltender Chris Driscoll (Saco, ME) had 19 saves in the win and Becker outshot Saint Joseph's by a 52-35 margin.
