STANDISH, ME – Inside Lacrosse has released its 2012 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Preseason Poll and Saint Joseph's College has been forecasted to finish fourth, according to the magazine's writers.
St. Joe's went 10-8 overall, including a 4-3 record in GNAC play, en route to earning the #4 seed in the conference tournament last spring. As a postseason host for the first time in the program's four-year history, the Monks defeated fifth-seeded Becker College in a tourney quarterfinal before falling to eventual GNAC Champion Mount Ida College in the semifinals.
Saint Joseph's is preceded in the poll by Mount Ida, Lasell College, and Norwich University and followed by Becker, Emerson College, Anna Maria College, Daniel Webster College, Emmanuel College, and Rivier College.
Along with the poll comes a list of Preseason All-GNAC selections and Monks senior attack Jonathan Horgan (Hingham, Mass) has garnered mention. Horgan collected First Team All-GNAC honors last season after recording 24 goals, 30 assists, and 42 ground balls.
Saint Joseph's will kick off the 2012 campaign with a game versus Husson University on March 3rd at Deering Memorial Stadium.
