Cyclones Blow Past Monks, 16-6

WASHINGTON, NJ – Centenary College (3-0) defeated Saint Joseph's College (1-3), 16-6, in a non-conference men's lacrosse contest on Sunday afternoon. Freshman midfielder Jake O'Brien (Andover, Mass.) tallied a goal and two assists in the loss.

The first-time foes played close during the first two quarters as the host-Cyclones held a 7-5 lead heading into intermission, but Centenary posted a 9-1 scoring advantage in the latter half – including seven scores in the fourth quarter - to clinch the victory.

Jake Ricciardi (Sharon, Mass.), Colby Main (Jericho, Vt.), Andrew Sullivan (Rochester, N.H.), Max Meserve (Kennebunk, Maine) and Jeremy Sampsonis (Shrewsbury, Mass.) all scored for the Monks and Bryan Johnson (Brookline, N.H.) tallied five caused turnovers in the setback. Ricciardi added six ground balls and Sampsonis produced five ground balls and three caused turnovers on the afternoon.

Senior goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll (Saco, Maine) tallied 12 saves for Saint Joseph's.

Conor Nolan (Hillsborough, N.J.) recorded four goals and five assists with a game-high nine ground balls versus the Monks.

Saint Joseph's returns to action on Tuesday when the team plays at Salve Regina University at 4:00 PM.
