Mules Blank Monks, 18-0

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Greg McKillop went over 100 career points and Garth Franklin finished with four goals and one assist to lead the Colby College men's lacrosse team to an 18-0 victory over Saint Joseph's College in non-conference play Tuesday night at Bill Alfond Field.

McKillop, who had two goals and two assists Tuesday, now has 43 goals and 59 assists for 102 career points. He joins teammates Ian Deveau and John Jennings to give Colby (3-2 overall) three players with 100 career points or more.

Kris Molinaro added three goals and one assist for Colby, which had a 50-17 shot advantage. John Alex Rutan also scored three goals, while Mark Phillips scored his first two collegiate goals and added an assist. John Grimaldi also had his first collegiate goal and chipped in with two assists. Whit Harwood, Jr. and Keith Fairbrother both had one goal and one assist, Chip Grossman had one score, and lone assists went Billy Polk and James Wyse. Polk earned his first collegiate point.

Max Eberhart won 17-of-21 face-offs and had a game-high seven ground balls. Peter Willauer added six ground balls and Bjorn Knutson had five ground balls and one caused turnover. Phillips and Thomas Brewster both had three ground balls.

Peter Reiley made one save in the first half for Colby in earning his third win. Tyler Will played the third quarter and stopped five shots, while Dylan Rothenberg saw his first collegiate action and stopped three shots.

Dominic Cesarini led the Monks with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Bert Comins added two caused turnovers and two ground balls. Saint Joseph's keeper Christopher Driscoll recorded 12 saves in the losing effort.

Grimaldi, Harwood, Jr., Rutan, Franklin, and Grossman scored in the first half to give the Mules a 5-0 lead after 15 minutes. McKillop and Franklin both scored twice in the second quarter and Franklin had his second goal of the game for a 10-0 margin at halftime.
