2013 Men's Lacrosse All-GNAC Teams Announced

STANDISH, ME - The 2013 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse All-Conference teams have been released and three Saint Joseph's College players have received honors.

Senior defender Bert Comins (Newbury, Mass.), senior goalkeeper Christopher Driscoll (Saco, Maine) and junior midfielder Andrew Hamill (Wolfeboro, N.H.) have earned Second Team All-GNAC accolades.

Comins claims Second Team honors for the fourth-consecutive season after recording 38 ground balls and a team-high 31 caused turnovers during his senior campaign. He leaves the men's lacrosse program as the Monks' all-time leader in caused turnovers (127) and currently ranks second in career ground balls with 211 over four seasons.

Driscoll earns All-Conference accolades for the first time in his career after posting a .579 save percentage with a 10.22 goals against average in 16 starts this spring. The senior captain led the GNAC with 206 saves and ranked fourth in the conference in save percentage and minutes (880:40) and tallied 58 ground balls while manning the net. Driscoll will graduate this May as the Monks' far and away career leader in saves (669), save percentage (.562), goals against average (9.48) and victories (29).

Hamill netted 13 goals with a team-high 16 assists for 29 total points and added 30 ground balls and nine caused turnovers en route to receiving All-GNAC mention for the first time in his career. The junior midfielder ranked second on the squad in points and was fifth on the team in goals.

Saint Joseph's College went 7-10 overall and played to a 6-3 record in conference play en route to earning the #4 seed in the GNAC Tournament under the watch of sixth-year Head Coach Mike Edgar this spring. The Monks hosted #5 Emmanuel College in a conference quarterfinal on April 23rd and, despite an impressive late-game surge, fell short with a season-ending 9-8 loss at the hands of the Saints.
