Monks Earn #3 Seed in 2019 GNAC Tournament

Lasell finishes
8-0 in GNAC play

WINTHROP, Mass. – With the 2019 regular season coming to a close on Tuesday evening, Lasell College has completed its league slate with a perfect 8-0 mark entering the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Lacrosse Tournament, which commences this Saturday, April 27 at the top-four seeds. 

Lasell won its 13th straight overall on Tuesday evening with a 14-4 victory over defending GNAC champion Johnson & Wales University (RI). The Lasers, who won the 2017 GNAC Championship under fourth-year head coach Bill Mason, will begin their quest for a second-ever conference crown this Saturday when they host eighth-seeded Albertus Magnus College at 4:00 PM. 

Norwich University (7-1 GNAC) defeated Saint Joseph's College of Maine (6-2 GNAC) on Tuesday on the road, 12-8, to cement the No. 2 seed, with SJC earning the No. 3 seed. The Cadets will host seventh-seeded Emmanuel College (3-5 GNAC) on Saturday at 1:00 PM, with the Monks hosting sixth-seeded JWU (3-5 GNAC), also at 1:00 PM. 

Fourth-seeded Rivier University (5-3 GNAC) handled Regis College in its regular-season finale, 15-10, while Anna Maria College (3-5 GNAC) nailed down the No. 5 seed via tiebreak over JWU and Emmanuel after topping Albertus Magnus (1-7 GNAC), 18-4, on Tuesday night. Riv will host the AMCATS on Saturday at 7:00 PM under the lights.
