STANDISH, Maine - Saint Joseph's men's lacrosse Head Coach Bill Cosentino has announced that Jonathan Horgan '12 has been promoted to Associate Head Coach.
In three years as Cosentino's top assistant, Horgan helped the Monks post a 28-23 (.549) overall record – including a 14-11 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play – since coming on board in 2017. The program has steadily improved during his three seasons and in 2019 the Monks set new team records for wins (12), winning streak (10), winning percentage (.706), goals (210), assists (136), and points (346).
"I have been part of the Monks Lacrosse program as a player or a coach for eight of the team's 11 NCAA seasons and witnessing the growth firsthand has been an incredible experience," adds Horgan. "I am honored to be named Associate Head Coach and I look forward to helping Coach Cosentino continue to lead this team to new levels of success."
The Hingham, Massachusetts native was a four-year member - and two-year captain - of the SJC lacrosse team and graduated in 2012 as the Monks' all-time leader in goals (111), assists (67) and points (178). He was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection and the first St. Joe's men's lacrosse player to garner ECAC All-New England and NEILA Senior All-Star Game recognition.
"I am extremely excited to announce the promotion of Jonathan Horgan to Associate Head Coach", adds Cosentino. "As arguably the best player in program history he brings substantial credibility to the position and has proven to be a passionate, energetic leader. He is incredibly dedicated to strengthening the Saint Joseph's College men's lacrosse program."
THANKS IN PART TO BILL COSENTINO
