Hired to fill the full-time Head Men's Lacrosse coaching in the fall of 2016, Cosentino inherited a team that went 5-11 in 2016 and had missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. In three years under his watch, the program has steadily improved due to a tireless recruiting approach and the efforts of his well-rounded coaching staff.

In his first year at Saint Joseph's, the team posted a six-win season and narrowly missed the conference tournament. The upward trend continued in 2018, when Cosentino guided the Royal Blue to a winning season (10-9) for the first time in seven years as well as the program's second-ever GNAC Tournament victory. In 2019, the Monks set new team records for victories (12), winning percentage (.706), longest winning streak (10), goals (210), assists (136) and points (346).

Cosentino also serves as the Director of the Monks' Leadership Academy, a program implemented in the spring of 2019 designed to assist in the development of leadership skills. The Leadership Academy aspires to instill leadership skills in SJC student-athletes by challenging and guiding them to analyze and then develop their own leadership traits.

Prior to the start of the 2022-23 academic year Cosentino was named as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Student Success at Saint Joseph's College.

RECENTLY:

Under Cosentino's watch in 2019, the Monks went 12-5 overall with a 6-2 record in conference play en route to earning the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament. Saint Joseph's hosted sixth-seeded Johnson & Wales University – the reigning conference champions – in the first round and suffered a season-ending 11-8 setback at the hands of the Wildcats on April 27th.

After the season, Cosentino was selected as the GNAC Coach of the Year and six players garnered All-Conference accolades, as Michael Finn '19, Ray Emery '19, Shane Fors '20, Shane Puleo '21, Alex Osmanski '21, and Zack Hamilton '21 were recognized for being among the best players in the GNAC.

The 2019 Monks set new team records for victories (12), winning percentage (.706), longest winning streak (10), goals (210), assists (136) and points (346).

PRIOR SEASONS:

2018: Cosentino led Saint Joseph's to a 10-9 overall record with a 5-4 mark in conference play during his second season en route to earning the #4 seed in the GNAC Tournament. Making their first postseason appearance since 2014, the Monks defeated fifth-seeded Rivier University, 11-10, in a conference quarterfinal at home on April 28th before falling to top-seeded Norwich University, 17-8, on the road four days later.

The 2018 Monks established new team records in shots (803), shots on goal (464) and man-up goals (47) and posted the third winning-season – and first since 2011 – in program history.

Following the regular season, five Saint Joseph's players garnered All-Conference honors, as senior defender Liam Skinner (Irving Texas) and junior defender Raymond Emery (Abington, Mass.) claimed Second Team accolades and seniors Tom Lisiecki (South Boston, Mass.) and Connor Trainor (Franklin, Mass.) and junior Michael Finn (Quincy, Mass.) collected Third Team acclaim.

2017: In his first year at the helm, Cosentino led the Monks to a 6-9 record with a 3-5 mark in conference play. Although they missed the GNAC Tournament, the 2017 Monks showed marked improvement statistically across the board and finished 15th in the nation in man-down defense (.814) and 45th in caused turnovers per game (10.31).

Cosentino notched his first victory as the Monks’ skipper on March 23rd, when St. Joe’s topped Husson University, 9-2, at Deering Memorial Stadium.

The Monks posted their most impressive victory of the season on April 22nd, when the Royal Blue edged Johnson & Wales University, 11-10, in what many considered to be the biggest upset in 2017 GNAC regular-season play. The Monks held the Wildcats without a goal in six man-up opportunities and withstood a late comeback bid to pick up the surprise victory versus a team that defeated Saint Joseph’s by a 14-3 score the previous season.

Following the regular season, junior defender Liam Skinner (Irving, Texas) earned Third Team All-GNAC honors after tallying two goals, five assists, 62 ground balls, and 30 caused turnovers while starting all 15 of the Monks' games as a team captain.

PREVIOUSLY:

Cosentino landed at Saint Joseph's after spending two (2014-15) seasons as the head coach at Daniel Webster College, where he guided the Eagles to a pair of New England Collegiate Conference Tournament appearances. The 2015 NECC Coach of the Year recipient led Daniel Webster to seven victories - tied for most in program history at the time - and boasted the largest men's lacrosse roster in team history during the 2016 campaign.

Prior to his stint at Daniel Webster, Cosentino served as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Keene State College. In two and a half years in Keene, he helped lead the Owls to a 24-10 overall record with a Little East Conference Championship – and subsequent NCAA Tournament berth – in 2014.

Previously, Cosentino served as the head coach of the boys lacrosse program at Merrimack High School and guided the program to its first winning season (10-6) in nearly 10 years. He also worked as a varsity assistant at Concord High School for four years and helped the team make a pair of NHIAA Final Four appearances.

Cosentino was also the founder of New England Elite Lacrosse, a Nashua, NH based club program that originated in 2010. In January of 2016, NE Elite merged with 4 Leaf Lacrsse New England. Coach Cosentino served as High School Program Director and coach during his time with 4 Leaf. In 2018 Coach Cosentino joined the 207Lacrosse program out of Portland, ME, but in August 2019 he went back to 4 Leaf Lacrosse as they merged with another program here in Maine.

Cosentino was a four-year starting defender for Plymouth State and went on to play two years for the Bay State Lacrosse Club, a member of the American Lacrosse League, before organizing the Warpigs Lacrosse Club in 2007.

A dynamic leader, Cosentino began working as a Leadership Coach at Velocity Performance in Nashua in 2014 and has delivered Leadership and Professional Training to students at numerous higher education institutions, including Dartmouth College, Brown University, RPI, WPI, Trinity College and Bryant University.

PERSONAL:

Coach Cosentino graduated Cum Laude from Plymouth State University in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Studies and earned his Master's in Teaching/Social Studies from Rivier University in 2011. He taught at either the elementary or middle school levels for over 10 years before accepting the head coaching position at Daniel Webster.

Coach Cosentino resides in Gorham, Maine with his wife, Margot.
