Pike Breaks Monks' Career Shutouts Mark

STANDISH, ME -Saint Joseph's Men's Soccer goalkeeper Will Pike '10 (Gorham, ME) broke the program record for career shutouts with a 2-0 win over conference rival Mount Ida College on Saturday. In less than two seasons, the senior keeper has amassed 15 goose-egg efforts to surpass Michael Bolanz '00 for the career mark.

Pike, a Great Northeast Athletic Conference First Team honoree last fall, currently leads the league in goals-against average (0.97), save percentage (.856) and shutouts (7).

Pike, who played at NCAA DI Mount St. Mary's for two seasons, currently ranks as the career leader at St. Joe's in goals-against average (0.93) and save percentage (.862) and is third in goalkeeper wins, with 20,  behind Bolanz (21 wins) and Jeff Yaeger '04 (22).

Saint Joseph's (8-6-1, 5-2 GNAC) will play host to University of Southern Maine on Wednesday at 3:00 PM.
