STANDISH, ME – The 2011 men's soccer schedule has been released. The Monks will play 16 matches this fall, beginning with two at the University of Southern Maine Classic Tournament.
St. Joe's will kick off the 2011 campaign with a match versus Salve Regina at USM on Friday, September 2nd at 2:00 PM and will conclude participation in the tourney with a 1:30 PM tilt against MIT the following day.
Home contests include bouts against Worcester State, Norwich, Albertus Magnus, Maine-Farmington, Anna Maria, Rivier and Mount Ida.
Notable non-conference opponents include Southern Maine and Endicott College.
Saint Joseph's posted a 6-11-2 overall record and went 3-5-1 in GNAC play last fall under second-year Head Coach Steve Babineau (20-19-3, .513). The Monks advanced to the conference tournament for the fourth consecutive season in 2010.
The GNAC Tournament begins on October 30th and the NCAA tourney starts on November 11th.
