EAST BOSTON, Mass. – Junior Sean Baker (Medfield, Mass.) scored in the 97th minute to propel Saint Joseph's College (7-3-1, 3-1-0 GNAC) past Suffolk University (0-11-1, 0-4-1 GNAC), 1-0, in a GNAC men's soccer contest on Saturday afternoon.

The Monks maintained offensive control for the majority of the contest as they outshot Suffolk by a 25-4 margin in registering their fifth-consecutive victory. For the Rams, the overtime loss was the team's second extra play setback this week.

Suffolk squandered a golden opportunity to come away with their first victory of the season just four minutes into overtime as freshman Jordan Casey (East Hampton, Conn.) found a wide-open Hamada Hazzoum (Wareham, Mass.) in front of the Monks' goal. Hazzoum launched a shot that sailed over the goalpost to keep the game going.

Sophomore Austin Bell (Gorham, Maine) led the Monks offensively as he posted five shots in the game. Freshman keeper Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) was untested in posting the first shutout of his NCAA career. 

Senior Nicholas Chamma (Rio de Janero, Brazil) was solid in goal for Suffolk as he made 11 saves in the losing effort.

Both teams will be back in action facing conference foes on the road this upcoming holiday Monday. The Monks will travel to Mount Ida College for a 1:00 PM kick-off while the Rams play at Johnson & Wales University at 1:00 PM.
