Men's Soccer Class of 2021 Announced

Men's Soccer Class of 2021 Announced

STANDISH, Maine – Head Coach Adrian Dubois is pleased to announce the men's soccer Class of 2021.

Coach Dubois, who is about to begin his fourth year as the Monks' skipper, figures to add increased competition and depth to his roster with this year's recruiting class, which features nine skilled players from four different states.

With a tireless recruiting approach and a keen eye for talent, Dubois has greatly improved the Monks' stock in just a three-year window. After posting a 5-15-0 overall record in 2014, the 2015 club went 11-7-1 (6-3-0 GNAC) and hosted a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament game. In 2016, the upward trend continued but at an accelerated level, as the Monks posted a 15-2-6 overall record with an 8-0-1 mark in GNAC play en route to earning the top seed in the GNAC Tournament. In the postseason, the Monks defeated Mount Ida and Suffolk to advance to the championship game and defeated Norwich in PK's to clinch an NCAA Tournament berth for the third time in team history.

St. Joe's proceeded to make program history with the team's first NCAA tourney triumph, a PK victory over Babson College, before falling to Brandeis University – a team that advanced all the way to the NCAA Semifinals – by a 3-0 score.

The 2016 SJC side set new team records for most wins, fewest losses, most ties, highest winning percentage, longest winning streak (8), longest undefeated streak (20), shutouts (16), consecutive shutouts (8), and goals against average (0.41).

With the Monks on the verge of joining the upper echelon of New England Region programs, the 2021 recruiting class figures to help the Royal Blue remain atop the conference standings while helping the program attain elite status in the region.

"I'm very excited about the athleticism, talent, and high-quality depth this incoming class brings to our program," adds Coach Dubois. "Not only is this a talented group, but all of the players are outstanding young men who will enhance our professional and positive team culture."

"Furthermore, I'm confident that every single one of these recruits will challenge the current players from day one," continues Dubois. "It is an exciting time for Saint Joseph's College Men's Soccer."
