STANDISH, Maine – Junior Noah Robinson (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) scored off a corner kick in the 74th minute to lift #6/15 Saint Joseph's College (11-0-0, 7-0-0 GNAC) past Emmanuel College (4-6-1, 3-2-1 GNAC), 1-0, on a rainy Tuesday night at the SJC Athletics Complex.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Monks, ranked sixth and 15th nationally in the latest D3soccer.com and United Soccer Coaches polls, respectively, maintained constant pressure throughout the conference contest and finally found the back of the net at the 73:43 mark when Robinson netted his third goal of the season off a Jesse Ramirez (Dumont, N.J.) header. Robinson headed the well-placed kick into top right corner to notch the third game-winning goal of his career.
THE KEEPERS
SJC senior Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) did not face a shot in what was the 50th victory and 33rd shutout of his collegiate career. Emmanuel junior keeper Jonathan Ferrarini (Hanover, Mass.), who was named as the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, thwarted several excellent scoring chances and finished the game with seven saves.
