STANDISH, Maine – Senior Mitchell Duncan (Sanford, Maine) scored a pair of goals to lift Saint Joseph's College (4-0-2) blank Thomas College (1-5-1), 2-0, in a non-conference men's soccer match at the SJC Athletics Complex on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Duncan netted his first tally of the evening at the 29:13 mark, when he received a right-to-left pass in the box from junior Noah Elmore (Berlin, Vt.) and slipped a shot past Thomas sophomore netminder Jonathan LeClair (Belmont, N.H.) while slamming into the right goal post.

The senior standout hit pay dirt again in the 59th minute to close out the game scoring.

TEAM STATS:

Saint Joseph's posted sizeable leads in shots (18-2), shots on goal (7-1), and corner kicks (7-0) on the evening.

THE KEEPERS:

SJC junior David Walbridge (Hampden, Mass.) made one save in the victory while LeClair turned away five shots for the Terriers.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

With the victory Saint Joseph's improves to 14-94 in the history of the series with Thomas College. For the Monks, the win is the program's first versus the Terriers since September 16th, 2008 (W, 2-1).
