Men Finish Second at Regis (Mass.)

WESTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College men's swimming team wrapped up a two-day dual meet at Regis (Mass.) on Saturday afternoon and placed second with 123 points. The Pride won the event with 221 team points.

THE RUNDOWN:

  • Freshman Joey Christian (Scarborough, Maine) won the 200-Free (1:57.89) and 100-Back (1:05.51) races, placed second in the 200-Back (2:21.28), and finished third in the 1650-Free (19:05.64)
  • Junior Zack Gryskwicz (Standish, Maine) was second in the 50-Free (24.75), 50-Back (30.54), and 100-Free (53.91) events and finished third in the 500-Free (5:34.17)
  • Junior Stephen Quinlan (Andover, Mass.) placed second in the 100-Breast (1:12.61) and 200-IM (2:18.48) events and third in the 50-Breast (32.66) and 50-Fly (27.82) races
  • Freshman Mason Scully (Sanford, Maine) placed second in the 50-Fly (27.53) and third in the 50-Free (25.03)
  • Freshman Caleb Levine (Portland, Maine) won the 100-Fly (1:00.09), placed second in the 200-Fly (2:14.43), and was third in the 100-IM (1:05.92)
  • Sophomore Austin Bear (Hanover, Maine) placed third in the 200-Breast (3:04.52)
  • Christian, Bear, Quinlan, and Scully finished second in the 200-Medley Relay (1:57.94)
  • Gryskwicz, Scully, Levine, and Quinlan raced to a second-place finish in the 200-Free Relay (1:40.57)
  • Christian, Quinlan, Levine, and Gryskwicz placed second in the 400-Medley Relay (4:09.73)
  • Gryskwicz, Christian, Scully, and Levine recorded the second-best time in the 400-Free Relay (3:39.65)

The Monks are off until Friday, December 1st when both teams kick off the three-day Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship at Simmons College.
