Whaley Earns Second GNAC Weekly Honor

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph's College freshman Evan Whaley (Merrimack, N.H.) has been named as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Swimming & Diving Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon. 

Whaley won the 200-Free (1:55.73), 100-Fly (59.37) and 500-Free (5:17.02) in a double-dual meet with Husson University and Maine Maritime Academy on Friday evening. 

The freshman standout has enjoyed a terrific start to his collegiate career with 10 individual victories in four competitions this season. His 500-Free time on Friday is the best mark recorded by a GNAC swimmer so far during the 2019-20 campaign. 

Saint Joseph's will compete at Regis College on Friday at 6:00 PM.
