Monks Participate in BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's College track & field program competed at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday. The event featured some of the elite programs and individual runners from around the northeast and beyond.

THE RUNDOWN – MEN:

  • Sophomore Nick Shuckrow (Winslow, Maine) set a new team record in the 1-Mile with a 4:38.01 effort, which was good for 264th overall
  • Freshman Jamie Carlson (Jericho, Vt.) was 37th in the triple jump (11.84m), 58th in the weight throw (9.82m) and 60th in the 60-Meter hurdles (10.69)
  • Senior Faisal Abdillahi (Lewiston, Maine) finished 124th in the 400-Meter (51.34) and 162nd in the 200-Meter (23.58)
  • Junior Billy Brooks (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was 184th in the 400-Meter (55.17)
  • Junior Connor Dufour (Augusta, Maine) placed 185th in the 400-Meter (55.28)
  • Freshman Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) finished 285th in the 1-Mile (4:42.77)
  • Junior Daniel Oser (Mansfield, Mass.) placed 110th in the 60-Meter (8.52)
  • Junior Andrew Caron (Gardiner, Maine) was 297th in the 1-Mile (4:53.29)
  • Senior Robert Travers (Lebanon, Maine) finished 63rd in the shot put (6.90m)

THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:

  • Senior Amber Dostie (Standish, Maine) placed 104th with a team record 5:14.39 time in the 1-Mile and qualified for the ECAC Championship with the effort
  • Heather Eaton (Lincolnville, Maine) ran in the 3000-Meter at the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT and placed fourth with an 11:16.84 performance and also finished 198th in the 1-Mile (5:43.15) at Boston University
  • Sophomore Rachel Calden (Jay, Maine) was 76th in the long jump (4.07m)
  • Junior Michelle Cunha (Enfield, Conn.) finished 46th in the shot put (8.38m) and 48th in the weight throw (7.90m)
  • Sophomore Gabby Lodge (Westbrook, Maine) placed 45th in the weight throw (10.22m)
  • Freshman Kyrie Harnden (Wilton, Maine) was 151st in the 400-Meter (1:11.09)

 

NEXT UP:

Individuals from both programs will compete in the NCAA DIII New England Championship next weekend. The women's event takes place at Smith College while the men's championship is at Springfield College. Both events begin on Friday afternoon and conclude on Saturday.
