WESTON, Mass. – Saint Joseph's College competed in the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Regis (Mass.), on Sunday. The men finished second with 170 points while the women also placed second with 150 team points.
Regis (Mass.) finished the day as GNAC Champions for both genders, as the Pride women racked up 238 points and the hosts' men's team tallied 229 points.

The Monks won five individual events and finished as the runner-up in four competitions en route to scoring 170 team points and placing ahead of Emmanuel College (132) and Lasell College (47).
Overall, 24 SJC athletes combined to compete in 63 track and field events with 16 individuals registering at least one point in the first-ever GNAC Championship.
In all, four team records were set or broken and four individuals - as well as the Monks' 4x800-meter relay quartet - claimed All-Conference accolades, which were bestowed upon all athletes who won their respective events.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Sophomore Andrew D'Ovidio (Walpole, Mass.) racked up a team-high 29 points after winning the pole vault (2.15m) and placing second in the long jump (5.93m), third in the 400-meter dash (52.46), fourth in the 200-meter dash (23.93), and sixth in the javelin throw (31.64m)
- Freshman Noah Hutchinson (Southwest Harbor, Maine) posted 18 points after winning the high jump (1.84m) and finishing second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:06.02)
- Sophomore Alex Fitzgerald (Lebanon, Maine) tallied 15 points after placing third in the triple jump (10.42m – team record) and long jump (5.77m) events, fifth in the 400-meter dash (53.70) and sixth in the 200-meter dash (24.06)
- Senior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) contributed 14 points after finishing as the runner-up in the 10,000-meter run (36:31.88) and third in the 5000-meter run (17:36.60)
- Freshman Lance Santeusanio (North Berwick, Maine) chipped in with 13 points after placing second in the high jump (1.84m), fifth in the 110-meter hurdles (20.60) and 400-meter hurdles (1:09.91) events, and sixth in the long jump (5.48m)
- Freshman Anthony Blatus (Dracut, Mass.) won the javelin throw (47.60m)
- Junior Marshall Berninghausen (Brasher Falls, N.Y.) broke his team record and won the hammer throw with a 43.50-meter toss
- Junior Alex Gutierrez (York, Maine) finished third in the javelin throw (38.30m) and sixth in the hammer throw (33.14m)
- Sophomore Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) was third in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:26.40) and sixth in the 5000-meter run (18:58.51) and 400-meter hurdles (1:17.00) events
- Freshman Michael Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.) placed third in the 800-meter run (2:07.36)
- Freshman Nick Baston (Wolfeboro, N.H.) finished third in the 100-meter dash (11.95)
- Freshman Brandon Whitlock (Westbrook, Maine) was fourth in the 1500-meter run (4:31.32)
- Freshman Connor Rice (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) placed fourth in the 800-meter run (2:08.22)
- Junior Harrison DeCotis (North Scituate, R.I.) finished fifth in the discus throw (29.92m)
- Sophomore Ben Plante (Biddeford, Maine) was fifth in the 5000-meter run (18:33.98)
- Sophomore Brandon Truax (Gardner, Mass.) placed fifth in the javelin throw (32.40m)
- Freshman Kristopher Mason (Hiram, Maine) finished sixth in the discus throw (29.88m)
- Rice, Kevin McWilliams (New Milford, Conn.), Mason, and Whitlock won the 4x800-meter relay and shattered the team record with an 8:46.08 performance
- Fitzgerald, Denver Bourgault, Santeusanio, and D'Ovidio finished second in the 4x400-meter relay with a team record time of 3:39.06
