WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second straight spring, Regis College is set to host the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which will take place this weekend on Saturday-Sunday, April 27-28 in Weston, Mass.

Last year marked the league's inaugural outdoor championship, and in 2019 the event will expand to a two-day meet. On Saturday following Regis' GNAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Quarterfinal contest, field events will begin at 3:00 PM at the Regis Athletics Complex, followed by the 10,000 meter events and 4x800 relays.

On Sunday, track events will begin at 9:30 AM with field events starting at 10:00 AM. For the complete event schedule and heat sheets, please see the links above.

Student-athletes from the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) and New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) will also participate at the inter-conference meet. While each of the three conferences will crown their own team champions, the meet will also recognize an overall winner for both genders. In 2018, the Regis men and women swept both the GNAC and inter-conference championships.

For the GNAC Championship, the Colby-Sawyer College men and Regis women were selected atop the respective championship polls, as voted upon by the GNAC's six head coaches. For the complete poll results, please see below.

On the men's side, the Chargers were picked first after receiving 33 points overall and five of a possible six first-place votes. Colby-Sawyer, which is in its first year as a GNAC core member, narrowly topped Regis in the voting, as the Pride took second place with 29 points and one first-place tally. Saint Joseph's College of Maine finished third, followed by Emmanuel College, Suffolk University and Lasell College.

In the women's poll, Regis was selected to repeat as GNAC champs after receving five first-place votes and 34 points, followed by Colby-Sawyer, Emmanuel, Saint Joseph's, Suffolk and Lasell.

The three conferences would like to collectively thank the Regis Athletics Department and GNAC track & field sport chair Mark Clemente for their tireless efforts hosting this event for the second time in as many years.

The GNAC will also look forward to its inaugural indoor track & field championship on February 16, 2020 at Boston University.
