Monks Add Talented Runner Jesseman to Coaching Staff

STANDISH, ME – The Saint Joseph's College cross country program has officially announced the addition of Erica Jesseman as an assistant coach. She will also serve as an assistant for the SJC track and field program during the spring semester.

Jesseman, a highly-decorated and accomplished runner, comes to St. Joe's after competing in cross country and indoor and outdoor track at the University of New Hampshire for four years.

While competing for the Wildcats, she set program records in the 5K indoor (16:24) and 5K outdoor (16:44) events as well as the 10K outdoor (34:30) competition. She also won New England's twice (5K and 10K) and won the ECAC 5K (16:24) as a senior.

Born and raised in Scarborough, Maine, Coach Jesseman starred at Scarborough High School before accepting a full scholarship to attend UNH. She won 12 state titles as a four-year member of the Red Storm cross country, indoor and outdoor track programs.

Jesseman continues to run competitively and recently garnered New England Runner of the Month honors after notching a 35:35 time - an effort good for second among Maine women - in the 14th Annual TD Bank Beach to Beacon 10K on August 6th. She also finished 12th, and second among female participants, with a 1:13.41 time in the American Championship 20K on September 5th.

She is currently training to meet the qualifying standard for the U.S. Women's Olympic Trials marathon.

Jesseman majored in both Sociology and Justice and minored in Psychology at UNH. She currently resides in Scarborough.
