Shuckrow & Fisher Collect GNAC Weekly Honors

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly accolades have been announced and Saint Joseph's College has swept the GNAC Men's Cross Country honors. Sophomore Nick Shuckrow (Winslow, Maine) and freshman Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) have earned GNAC Runner and Rookie of the Week awards, respectively, for their efforts in the UNE Invitational this past Saturday.

Shuckrow toured the 8K UNE Invitational course at Rotary Park in Biddeford in a career-best 27:39 time to place 14th out of 145 runners in the annual event. For Shuckrow, who was listed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll once (9/30/13) last fall, the weekly top runner honor is the first of his career.

Fisher posted 27:43 time in his first collegiate 8K race - the University of New England Invitational at Rotary Park in Biddeford, Maine on Saturday. The freshman finished three spots behind Shuckrow and was 17th overall.

Not since September 30th, 2008, when Ryan Prescott '09 and Bobby Britten were honored, has the Monks men's cross country team sported GNAC Runner and Rookie of the Week award winners in the same reporting period.

Saint Joseph's will race at UMass.-Dartmouth this coming Saturday.
