FARMINGTON, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College cross country teams kicked off the 2017 season with an appearance in the University of Maine-Farmington 5K on Saturday afternoon. The women finished fourth with 102 points while the men finished fifth with 105 points.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Senior Lucas Fisher (Strafford, N.H.) led the Monks and finished seventh overall with a 17:48 time
- Freshman JD Ndayishimiye (Westbrook, Maine) finished 20th with an 18:58 effort in his NCAA debut
- First-year Brandon Whitlock (Westbrook, Maine) was 24th with a 19:12 effort
- Sophomore Kevin McWilliams (New Milford, Conn.) posted a 19:19 time and finished 25th
- Sophomore Jacob Boissonnault (Biddeford, Maine) raced to a 30th-place finish with a 19:40 performance
- Freshman Michael Mason (20:22), Connor Rice (20:36), Alex Fitzgerald (21:32), Nick Baston (22:31), and Lance Santeusanio (26:07) competed in their first collegiate event this afternoon
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Junior Lauren Lecompte (Lewiston, Maine) paced the Monks and finished 13th overall with a 22:42 performance
- Making her collegiate cross country debut, sophomore Marisa Quirion (Gardiner, Maine) finished 22nd with a 23:25 time
- Freshman Meghan Glisson (Merrimack, N.H.) was 29th with a 24:06 effort
- Freshman Britney Theroux (West Warwick, R.I.) placed 31st with a 24:14 performance
- Sophomore Amanda Tavoletti (Reading, Mass.) toured the 5K course in 25:28 and finished 44th overall
- Freshmen Lindsey Barrow (25:54), Elizabeth Cummons (25:56), Emma Belyea (26:06), Holly Moores (28:41), and Alexa Hussey (28:45) all made their collegiate debuts this afternoon
