Cross Country Teams Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honor

STANDISH, Maine - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) team academic awards have been announced for the 2017 cross country season and the Saint Joseph's College men's and women's team has been honored.

For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum team grade point average of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.

Last fall, the SJC men's program posted a 3.33 collective GPA while the women notched a 3.11 team GPA. Saint Joseph's is one of just two programs, along with Norwich University, from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) to have both teams honored.

Overall, there were 388 teams honored by the USTFCCCA. Of those teams, 221 of them were women's programs and 167 of them were men's.
