Hendrix & Jordan Tabbed as GNAC Pitcher, Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and a pair of Saint Joseph's College softball players have earned mention.

Senior Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) has been selected as the GNAC Pitcher of the Week and senior third baseman Kim Jordan (Bangor, Maine) is the GNAC Player of the Week.

Hendrix allowed one run off four hits with eight strikeouts in a complete-game victory over Albertus Magnus College on Saturday afternoon. The senior two-way player currently leads the SJC staff in ERA (2.42), strikeouts (15) and opponents' batting average (.224) and is second in innings (17.1). Also an outstanding hitter, Hendrix heads into the third week of the season hitting .444 (16-36) with 13 runs, five doubles, three home runs, 14 RBI and five stolen bases.

Jordan went 6-7 with a run, a double, a triple and a home run in the doubleheader split at Albertus Magnus College on Saturday. She is currently hitting .477 (21-44) with four doubles, five triples, a homer, eight RBI and two stolen bases. Jordan is the team leader in batting, runs and triples and sports a .950 fielding percentage with just two errors in 40 chances through 12 contests this spring.

The GNAC weekly honor is the second for both players this season, as Hendrix was selected as the GNAC Player of the Week on March 16th and Jordan earned the same honor on March 9th.
