Hendrix Tabbed as GNAC Softball Player of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been announced and Saint Joseph's College senior Theresa Hendrix (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus) is the GNAC Player of the Week.

Hendrix collects her second weekly player honor after hitting .533 (16-30) with 12 runs, six doubles, four triples, a home run, 14 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 10 games last week. The senior standout posted a .600 OBP and a 1.100 SLG% during the 6-4 week and also picked up a pair of pitching wins with a 1.24 ERA and nine strikeouts over three appearances spanning 11 innings. She went 3-3 with three runs, a triple, a homer and three RBI against Anna Maria on Wednesday and was 3-3 with four runs, two doubles, a triple and three RBI versus Rivier on Sunday.

Through 34 games for the 25-9 Monks, Hendrix is hitting .431 (44-102) with 36 runs, 12 doubles, five triples, six homers, 35 RBI and nine stolen bases. She currently leads the conference in total bases (84) and slugging percentage (.824) and ranks second in the GNAC in doubles, triples, RBI and runs.

Also a contributor in the circle, the senior standout has appeared in 10 games with a 5-1 record and 31 K's over 38.2 innings with a 1.81 ERA as a pitcher.

Saint Joseph's, the #3 seed in the GNAC Tournament, begins postseason play with a playoff tilt at Albertus Magnus College on Friday afternoon. The Monks, winners of the last four GNAC titles, plays the victor of the #7 University of Saint Joseph/#6 Emmanuel College play-in game at 5:00 PM.
