King Chosen as GNAC Pitcher of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College junior Caitlyn King (Old Town, Maine) has been selected as the GNAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

King was dominant in a pair of starts versus conference opponents over the weekend, as the junior posted a minuscule 0.58 ERA and opponents hit just .139 (5-36) against her in triumphs over Rivier and Anna Maria. The junior hurler tossed a five-inning no-hitter versus the AMCATS on Sunday, fanning three batters and allowing just one base runner on a walk in a 9-0 win.

This spring the junior hurler is 5-6 with a 5.93 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 61.1 innings. The weekly conference honor is the first of King's college career.

Saint Joseph's will host Simmons University in a conference doubleheader on Friday starting at 4:00 PM.
