STANDISH, Maine – The Maine College Baseball & Softball Association (MCBSA) weekly honors have been released and Saint Joseph's College senior Lydia Goodnough (Kennebunkport, Maine) has been selected as the MCBSA Player of the Week for the reporting period ending April 14th.
Goodnough almost singlehandedly lifted the Monks to a pair of wins at Anna Maria on Sunday. The senior standout went 8-for-9 with four runs, two doubles, a triple, and three RBI in the sweep and also earned the win in both games in the circle after tossing nine innings with nine strikeouts while giving up two earned runs and seven hits in the two victories.
The senior two-way standout is the second SJC player to earn MCBSA weekly honors this spring. Sophomore catcher Chantelle Bouchard (Biddeford, Maine) earned the same award on March 18th.
Through 19 games this spring, Goodnough is hitting .360 (18-50) with 16 runs, five doubles, one triple, seven RBI, and four stolen bases. In the circle, she is 4-3 with a 3.95 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 51.1 innings.
Saint Joseph's (7-12, 3-1 GNAC) will host Norwich University tomorrow in a conference twinbill slated to start at 3:00 PM.
