STANDISH, Maine – The Saint Joseph's College softball program will host a special event to celebrate girls Little League players in the State of Maine on Sunday, April 21st. The 'Little League Day' event will take place during the second game (2:00 PM) of the Monks' conference doubleheader versus Albertus Magnus College at Richard W. Bailey Field.
The event is inspired by the Little League's #GirlsWithGame initiative which was launched in 2019 to foster the growth in participation in sport among girls and help develop community mentors and role models.
Admission to the games is free and concessions will be on hand for all SJC fans. Little League players in attendance will have a chance to run the bases and meet student-athletes from both the Saint Joseph's and Albertus Magnus softball teams. The Monks mascot will be on hand for the celebration and commemorative posters – created by Laurel Clace '25 of the SJC sports information office – will be given to all Little League players in attendance with an autograph session to be held after the game.
A Cargo Pizza food truck will be at the game and commemorative t-shirts will be available for purchase.
