Marks Selected as MWBCA Rookie of the Week

STANDISH, Maine – The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association (MWBCA) weekly awards have been released and Saint Joseph's College freshman guard Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) has claimed Rookie of the Week honors.

Marks registered the finest performance of her young career with 21 points and three rebounds in a victory over University of Saint Joseph on Saturday. The freshman guard went 6-8 from the floor, including a perfect 5-5 three-point shooting performance, and made all four of her free throw attempts in the conference victory. The weekly honor is the first of her collegiate career.

Through 19 games this season, Marks is averaging 5.4 points and 2.1 steals per game while shooting 402% (33-82) from the floor, 44.2% (19-43) from three-point land, and 75% (18-24) from the free throw line. She currently leads the team in three-point success and is ranked third on the squad in three-pointers made and fifth in scoring average.

Saint Joseph's (15-4, 5-0 GNAC) will host conference-rival Rivier University (8-11, 3-3 GNAC) tonight at 7:00 PM.
