NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Saint Joseph's College (10-1, 3-0 GNAC) pummeled Norwich University (3-6, 0-2 GNAC), 74-44, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon.

FIRST GLANCE:

Junior guard Kelsi McNamara (West Newbury, Mass.) tallied 17 points and eight assists and classmate Hannah Marks (Waldoboro, Maine) added 15 points and five boards to help the Monks win their ninth-consecutive game.

THE REST OF THE STORY:

Saint Joseph's kicked off the conference contest with 16 unanswered points as Marks and senior forward Regan McFerran (Albany, N.Y.) both connected for a pair of three-pointers in the opening three minutes. The Monks held a 40-21 cushion going into intermission en route to posting their fifth victory by 25 or more points this winter.

LEADERS – SAINT JOSEPH'S:

• Junior guard Julia Champagne (Brunswick, Maine) added 12 points and four rebounds
• McFerran chipped in with 11 points and seven caroms with a pair of blocked shots
• Junior forward Emily Benway (Rochester, N.H.) contributed six points and six rebounds
• Senior forward Brianne Maloney (South Portland, Maine) came off the bench to score six points and pull down six boards

LEADERS – NORWICH:

• Senior guard Shyann Josler (Thetford Center, Vt.) scored 12 points with three assists and a pair of steals
• Senior forward Paige McNally (Barre, Vt.) came off the bench to tally nine points and eight caroms

NOTEABLE:

Sophomore forward Lexi L'Heureux-Carland (Bridgton, Maine), who transferred to St. Joe's from Wheaton College after the fall semester, scored her first points as a Monk with a layup at the 1:48 mark of the fourth quarter.

HISTORICALLY SPEAKING:

With the victory, Saint Joseph's improves to 19-7 in the history of the series with Norwich University and has now defeated the Cadets in four-consecutive meetings dating back to the 2015-16 season.
