STANDISH, ME - The 2009 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference teams have been announced. Lauren Hagerman '10 (Scarborough, ME) and Alyssa Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) have both been selected as First Team recipients.
Hagerman wrapped up her junior season leading the team in assists (27), points (69) and draw controls (62), and tied for the lead in ground balls (30). Her 42 goals ranked second on the team. Named to the GNAC Honor Roll four times during the season, the midfielder paced the league in assists per game (2.56), points per game (6.67) and draw controls per contest (6.00). Hagerman's draw controls per game average ranked third in NCAA DIII Women's Lacrosse as of April 19 th . The All-Conference nod is her first as a women's lacrosse player and her second overall, as she was listed on the GNAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Second Team in the fall.
Marchant has now scored 46 goals in each of her two seasons at Saint Joseph's and has paced the club with the tally totals both years. The sophomore midi tied for the team lead with 30 ground balls and finished the season with 33 draw controls.
Jaimee Brett '10 (Otisfield, ME) has been selected to represent Saint Joseph's on the GNAC Women's Lacrosse All-Sportsmanship Team. The junior scored 15 goals and added seven helpers this season while consistently demonstrating the tenets of sportsmanship for the second-year program.
Saint Joseph's completed its second year as a varsity sport at St. Joe's with a 6-8 overall record. Having posted a 3-3 GNAC record, the Lady Monks made an appearance in the league playoffs for the second time in as many seasons in the conference.
