BOSTON, MA - Emerson College (5-2, 2-0 GNAC)
defeated St. Joe's (2-1, 0-1), 18-5, in the Lady Monks' conference
opener on Saturday afternoon. Lauren
Hagerman '10 (Scarborough, ME) tallied three goals
and an assist and teammate Alyssa
Marchant '11 (Wakefield, MA) added a goal and an
assist in the losing effort.
Jaimee Brett '10 (Otisfield, ME)
netted her fourth goal of the season in the loss and SJC goalkeeper
Taylor Allison '12 (Pawtucket,
RI) made 16 saves in net.
The Lions got goals from nine different players including four each
from Meaghan Ross and Katie Peters, and three from Amy Gervis. Ross
added a pair of assists while Peters and Gervis also had
assists.
Emerson broke out of a 1-1 tie early in the first half with
consecutive scores by Gervis, Katie Dodge and Peters. The Lions
took a 10-3 halftime lead. Emerson took away any doubt of the
outcome by scoring the first six goals of the second half.
Saint Joseph's will play at Southern Maine on Tuesday, March 31st
at Deering Memorial Field in Portland. Game time is 7:00 PM.
